Launch & traction
2-step, flat shift, and slip-based spark cut.

Race Core implements launch (2-step), flat shift and traction as spark and/or fuel cuts plus optional boost-solenoid behaviour. They are only as good as the inputs: a clutch switch, a throttle, a vehicle-speed or driveshaft speed, and a wheel-speed if you want real slip.
Launch / 2-step
- Arming: clutch in (Digital input, grounded switch) and TPS above a threshold, vehicle speed below a threshold.
- Limiter: a hard RPM (e.g. 4 500) with spark cut. Fuel cut is harsher on the turbo and kinder to exhaust valves — pick based on the car.
- Boost: some tuners hold the wastegate shut on the 2-step to build boost against the converter or the clutch. That is a turbine-speed and manifold-pressure exercise, not a default. Watch inlet temps.
Flat shift
On an upshift, a clutch or strain-gauge / load-cell input (or a sequential barrel switch) triggers a brief spark cut so you can leave the throttle open. Time the cut to the gearbox, not to a meme (40–80 ms is a starting range; dog boxes and synchro boxes are not the same).
Traction
Slip = driven vs undriven speed (or vs a GPS / driveshaft target). Response is spark retard then cut, then fuel if it is still spinning. For drift you often want a gentle retard and no hard cut — a hard cut upsets the rear on a clutch-kick. For a 2WD rally car you want the opposite. Tune the intervention, do not copy a grip table onto a drift car.
